Wiseman Original Art- Dennis Sunday

Wow! It's New Year's Day, Wiseman fans! And every new year promises a brand-new beginning with even greater events ahead for each and every one of us! Yay!
(Yet, on the other hand, maybe this New Year is just a bright shiny package containing the same old stuff you thought you'd thrown out last year.)
Hmmm...
Well, I choose to believe that as long as we have Al Wiseman artwork to help us along, it'll be a darned swell year!
In fact, if good ol' Al were still around, I'm sure he'd say, "Hey, let's celebrate the New Years with a post featuring the original art from an early Dennis Sunday comic strip!" Great idea, Mr. Wiseman!
And luckily, Wiseman fan Jim Fisher recently sent me photos of his incredible framed Al Wiseman Dennis Sunday original! Keen! Thanks Jim!

Oh, and Jim also sent an image of his 1951 Ketcham Dennis daily! Yow!

Please order Dennis the Menace books from Fantagraphics (and ask them to reprint the Wiseman Dennis comic books and Sunday strips).

Another great Sunday page. Thanks for posting, Bill; it's good to see you back. Any idea what the date on this strip is?
Thanks for this Bill. What are the dimensions on a DTM Sunday?
Is it just me, or is Bill having server trouble?
Nothing new since the 1st?
Well happy New Year!
Interesting that the single cartoon has no notch in the upper right.
However, there may be some significance to the wobbles on the left and right border. :-)

I think Murray Harris has had his 15 minutes.

Hi Bill; I came across an unsigned advertising illustration from 1955 in a magazine called "Household". It looks like it could be by Al Wiseman. You can see it (and download it) here
Hey Lief, The illustration that is posted at Flicker, is not my fathers work, but does look like someone doing a DTM theme to the add,
Cheers
Jim Wiseman
Hello again! Ok, this time I know I found one by Al Wiseman :-)
You can see it here
Cool!
Yes, that is (obviously) an Al Wiseman piece. How did you find it? And would it be possible to get a bigger scan to post on this site?
Absolutely, Bill. Just go to the image and then click the "All Sizes" button along the top of the image. You can then choose the "largest size" and click the download button and *Voila* you'll have the original full size version.
I found it while flipping through an old Pic magazine - "The magazine for young men" - a sort of early Esquire competitor, I guess. Since I first visited your wonderful blog I've been keeping a look out for Al's work. Hopefully I'll have more for you in the future!
Cheers - leif :-)
Hello once again! I found another Al Wiseman panel gag in another issue of Pic magazine. You can see it and download it here
Cheers - L ;-)
Thanks yet again, Leif!
This panel is even better than the last one you found!
