Dennis the Menace Takes a Poke at Poison
Looks like our pals over at Comics With Problems have scanned and posted an edition of the timeless Dennis the Menace giveaway comic Dennis the Menace Takes a Poke at Poison (drawn by good ol' Mr. Al "I drew Dennis the Menace" Wiseman himself!)

In all honesty, we at The Al Wiseman Blog aren't actually pals with the Comics With Problems folks. In fact, we don't even know who the heck they are. But it is our belief that everyone on the internet should extend a hand in friendship to all other internet denizens. (Unless, of course, they have a site featuring adult content, in which case we should shun and vilify them.)
Thanks to Milo George for the heads-up!
Please order Dennis the Menace books from Fantagraphics (and ask them to reprint the Wiseman Dennis comic books and Sunday strips).
"Dennis the Menace" & related characters are ©Hank Ketcham Enterprises, Inc.

I think "Coping with Family Stress" is a guide that Dennis' parents could surely use...
Thanks for telling us about this ghostly artist. I wonder how many other Al Wisemans there are out here?
I know there's an Al Wiseman who was a famous car collector. He had a bunch of incredibly expensive cars from movies and TV shows (such as the 1960's Batmobile). Not sure if he's still around...
My dad was friends with Al Wiseman in the late 60's - early 70's when he did a brief stint with Boeing. At some point Al gave our family his personal, bound collection of all the comics he ghosted - years 1955 through 1965. We had 8 kids in the family and I think he thought we would appreciate them. We did!
I inherited them and have a 21 year old daughter who was raised on the wisdom of Dennis. She still spouts facts that she learned from reading the complete collection. I guess you could almost call it the Tao of Dennis.
Wow!
That's a great way to raise your daughter- on Wiseman Dennis comics!
I'd love to interview you about your dad's friendship with the great Mr. Wiseman. If you get a chance, my email is:
