Ruff Stuffed
Have you ever stopped and wondered what Dennis the Menace's dog Ruff might look like as a Wiseman-drawn stuffed-pillow-thingie?
Of course you have. Who hasn't?
Well, now's the time to stop all that wasteful pondering and look here:
Yep, it's Ruff alright. Ruff as a pillow-type-object drawn by a certain Mr. Wiseman.
Dunno when this was manufactured. Early-to-mid 1960's? Unfortunately, there's no tags or writing on him.
And here's a few more photos of Ruff at different angles. Along with some that don't really make much sense...
Hmm... Ruff is a very thin dog. Perhaps that Menace child has been forgetting to feed him?

I'm not sure that I'm remembering this correctly, but I believe that this Tuff was a do-it-yourself home sewing kit (that would also explain why there was no tag or label on it.
The kits were sold in stores with sewing supplies (cloth, dress patterns, etc.)
If memory serves, there was also a kit for making a stuffed Dennis offred for sale at the same time (also by Wiseman?).
My mom made the Dennis one for me, but over time (and abuse), I knocked the stuffing out of it.

I dunno, something about this doesn't look right. Maybe my eyes are going.
I have seen a few of the other sewing kit DTM characters, and they didn't look right either.
However, I could be wrong, it's happened once before.

Do you mean that Ruff looks off model?
I am not at home at the moment, so I will have to do some more research.
Take look at this, and tell me if you see some similarities.

So do you think the stuffed Ruff art may be by someone else? I'm still kinda thinking it's a Wiseman...
Yes, I think it is not an AW version of Ruff, but this will take more research.

Well, in that case, I should dig out a stuffed Margaret pillow-doll-thing that may be from the same series. It might help to shed some light on things.
It's packed away somewhere, but if I can find it, I'll post it for tomorrow...
